Full Job Description

The HR Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day human resources administration andemployee support at the Gibbes Museum of Art. The position coordinates recruitment, onboarding, benefitsadministration, performance review processes, HR recordkeeping, and compliance activities.

The HR Coordinator works closely with museum leadership and the museum's contracted HR consultant to ensure effective and compliant HR practices. Complex employee relations, investigations, legal compliance matters, and strategic HR issues will be referred to the contracted HR consultant and appropriate museum leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate job postings and applicant communications
Schedule interviews and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new employee orientation
Coordinate employee offboarding and exit procedures
Maintain onboarding and personnel documentation

Employee Support

Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR questions and routine concerns
Assist employees with benefits, leave, and policy inquiries
Assist with employee insurance renewals and benefits enrollment
Provide guidance on HR processes and procedures
Maintain confidentiality in all employee matters
Coordinate with the museum's contracted HR consultant regarding complex employee relations matters, investigations, compliance concerns, or policy issues

HR Administration

Maintain personnel records and required HR documentation
Track employee leave requests and maintain related records
Coordinate performance review schedules and documentation
Maintain HR calendars, compliance deadlines, and required reporting
Assist with payroll-related employee communications and documentation as needed

Compliance & Policy Administration

Coordinate required employee trainings
Support implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures
Maintain employee handbook updates and policy acknowledgements
Work with the museum's contracted HR consultant to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in human resources, office administration, nonprofit operations, or a related field
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Ability to work in-office
Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred

Experience in human resources, employee onboarding, benefits administration, or nonprofit operations
Experience working with organizations of 20–100 employees
SHRM, aPHR, or other HR-related certification

$50 per hour, Part-Time, scheduled as needed, not to exceed 15 hours per week.
