Open Doors. Build Relationships. Create Opportunity.
OnitRN is looking for a confident, persistent, and relationship-driven Business Development & Community Outreach Specialist to expand our presence throughout the senior care community in Spokane and Central Washington.
Your primary goal will be to start conversations and turn potential interest into qualified meetings.
You will connect with senior living owners, operators, administrators, and community partners through telephone outreach, thoughtful emails, LinkedIn, in-person visits, professional networking, and community events.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong telephone presence who is comfortable initiating conversations and is not easily discouraged by rejection. You should be able to move beyond an automatic “not interested,” recognize partial interest, ask thoughtful questions, and earn the opportunity for a more meaningful conversation.
You will not initially be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle. Company leadership will lead the primary consultative meetings and close the sale. You will help establish the relationship, qualify the opportunity, prepare for the meeting, participate in the conversation, and coordinate follow-up.
As you develop, you will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of discovery meetings, presentations, proposals, closing, and the complete sales process.
This is a field-based position. Candidates must live in or near the Spokane/Central Washington area and be comfortable making regular local visits.
About OnitRN
The average nurse burns out of a senior living community every 18 months—leaving residents without consistent care, staff without oversight, and communities scrambling to keep up.
Thousands of senior care communities across Washington are doing important work, but many struggle to deliver consistent outcomes because their systems were built on good intentions rather than reliable execution.
OnitRN helps solve that problem by taking compliance, training, nurse delegation, and clinical oversight off the plates of community operators.
Our results include:
- Serving more than 1,250 residents through our comprehensive assessment process
- Developing Washington’s only complete nurse delegation system designed to produce consistent results across communities
- Growing to seven figures in 24 months without outside capital
- Building trusted, recurring partnerships throughout the senior care community
We are a growing company with an established service, proven results, and a developing sales system. We know how to generate interest and earn conversations. Now, we need someone who can consistently execute that process, build meaningful relationships, and help us make the system even stronger.
The Opportunity
This role owns the beginning and middle of our sales process.
You will identify the right organizations and decision-makers, initiate contact, build credibility, explore potential needs, and secure qualified meetings for a deeper consultative conversation.
You will work directly with company leadership. Initially, leadership will conduct the primary sales meetings, develop solutions, present proposals, and close the business. You will participate in the process, learn our consultative approach, and help ensure every opportunity receives excellent follow-through.
This is not a high-volume call-center position. Success will require consistent telephone outreach, but the role also includes in-person relationship development, professional networking, LinkedIn outreach, community events, and local marketing.
We are looking for someone who wants to become a recognized and trusted presence in the senior care community.
What You’ll Own
- Research and identify senior living communities, operators, administrators, and referral partners
- Build and maintain an organized list of target accounts and decision-makers
- Initiate conversations through telephone calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and in-person visits
- Establish rapport and determine whether a relevant need or opportunity exists
- Respond calmly and professionally to initial rejection
- Navigate partial interest and common objections without becoming aggressive
- Ask thoughtful questions that uncover needs, timing, decision-making authority, and appropriate next steps
- Secure qualified introductory meetings with appropriate decision-makers
- Prepare leadership for meetings with accurate information about the organization, contact, needs, and prior conversations
- Participate in consultative meetings and learn how OnitRN evaluates needs and presents solutions
- Coordinate timely and professional follow-up after meetings
- Maintain complete and accurate CRM documentation
- Represent OnitRN at networking functions, community events, conferences, association meetings, and educational programs
- Help organize local presentations, lunches, workshops, and other relationship-building activities
- Collaborate with leadership on local marketing and community-engagement initiatives
- Maintain a strong, current, and credible professional presence on LinkedIn
- Use LinkedIn to build relationships, support events, share appropriate content, and increase OnitRN’s visibility
- Track outreach results and help improve our scripts, emails, follow-up sequences, qualification process, and CRM workflow
- Contribute ideas while consistently executing the parts of our process that are already working
What a Qualified Meeting Means
Success is not measured by simply placing names on a calendar.
A qualified meeting is a meeting that:
- Takes place with an appropriate decision-maker or meaningful internal influencer
- Involves an organization that reasonably fits OnitRN’s target market
- Is connected to a relevant need, challenge, question, or area of interest
- Includes agreement to have a substantive conversation about OnitRN’s services
- Has enough background information documented for the meeting to be productive
We care about the quality of opportunities—not meaningless activity or pressure-based appointment setting.
Performance Expectations
You will be expected to:
- Maintain consistent weekly telephone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person outreach
- Develop new relationships throughout Spokane and Central Washington
- Generate qualified introductory meetings
- Follow up consistently and professionally
- Maintain accurate and timely CRM records
- Arrive prepared for prospect and internal meetings
- Represent OnitRN professionally in the community
- Participate actively in relevant networking and marketing events
- Demonstrate measurable improvement in messaging, qualification, and objection navigation
- Contribute observations that improve our outreach and sales process
- Take increasing ownership as your knowledge and skills develop
Specific activity and meeting goals will be established during onboarding and refined as we gather reliable conversion data.
Who You Are
You have a strong telephone presence. You sound warm, confident, credible, and comfortable speaking with people you have never met.
You are not afraid of rejection.
When someone says, “I’m not interested,” you do not immediately give up, become defensive, or try to overpower the objection. You remain composed, listen carefully, and ask a thoughtful question to understand whether the response reflects poor timing, an existing solution, a misunderstanding, or a genuine lack of fit.
You recognize that “send me some information” may be the beginning of a conversation—not the end of one.
You understand that persistence does not mean pressure. Your job is to create enough trust and curiosity to earn a meaningful next step.
You are also organized and dependable. You know that successful business development requires more than confidence. It requires preparation, consistent activity, accurate documentation, thoughtful follow-up, and personal accountability.
This Role May Be a Fit If
- You enjoy initiating conversations and meeting new people
- You have a naturally strong and engaging telephone presence
- You communicate clearly without sounding overly rehearsed
- You are comfortable making outbound calls
- You enjoy developing relationships through email, LinkedIn, networking, and in-person visits
- You recover quickly from rejection
- You can navigate “not interested,” “send me information,” and “we already have someone” with curiosity and good judgment
- You listen carefully and ask useful follow-up questions
- You recognize the difference between persistence and pressure
- You enjoy marketing, networking, and community events
- You have a strong, current professional presence on LinkedIn
- You are organized and willing to document your work consistently in a CRM
- You accept coaching and apply feedback quickly
- You want to learn consultative selling and eventually close business independently
- You are motivated by measurable goals and performance incentives
- You want to help build something meaningful within a growing company
Helpful Experience
Previous business-development experience is helpful, but an impressive sales title is not required.
Strong candidates may have experience in:
- Outbound sales or appointment development
- Recruiting or staffing
- Senior living or healthcare outreach
- Community relations
- Membership development
- Fundraising
- Hospitality or event sales
- Real estate prospecting
- Insurance
- Home health or professional services
- Customer service involving account growth or upselling
Experience in senior living or healthcare is valuable but not required. Your ability to build trust, learn quickly, handle rejection, and follow through matters more.

Advancement will be based on demonstrated ability, consistent performance, business needs, and readiness—not simply time in the position.

- Approximately $42,120 in annual base compensation

Our Culture
OnitRN is a growing company solving a real and important problem.
We value people who take responsibility, communicate honestly, and continuously improve. We move quickly, but we do not believe growth should come at the expense of integrity or the people we serve.
This is not a highly layered corporate environment. You will work directly with leadership, receive clear feedback, and see how your work affects the business.
You will have meaningful independence, but independence comes with accountability. We welcome thoughtful ideas while expecting team members to learn and consistently execute the parts of our process that are already producing results.
We want someone who takes the work seriously without taking rejection personally—someone who brings energy, professionalism, good judgment, and heart to every interaction.
Our Core Values
- Achieve It with Heart: Pour your best into every client and team interaction.
- Guard It with Care: Build trust through integrity and humility.
- Embrace It with Passion: Own your work, adapt to change, and dream big.

- Live It with Fulfillment: Balance work and life while focusing on what matters.
These values guide how we serve clients, work together, make decisions, and evaluate performance. Strong alignment is essential for success at OnitRN.
