Help Desk Analyst
A Help Desk Technician provides frontline technical support by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and account-related issues. Key responsibilities include responding to support tickets, diagnosing problems, guiding users through solutions, installing or configuring systems, maintaining documentation, and escalating complex issues when needed.
Typical requirements include strong customer service skills, basic knowledge of Windows/Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, ticketing systems, troubleshooting ability, and clear communication. The role is important for keeping users productive and ensuring IT issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
Functions and Responsibilities
Follows procedures for the installation and maintenance of desktop hardware and software.
Uses clone images to install new desktop PCs.
Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnostics in order to accurately determine root cause.
Executes corrective actions as prescribed by other technicians or per standard recovery procedures.
Responds to help desk tickets assigned and records activity in help desk system.
Uses tools and supplies in an organized and orderly manner to ensure the I/T lab is used efficiently.
Performs basic equipment preventive maintenance.
Competent usage of Windows-based PCs and peripherals (printers, scanners, cameras).
Troubleshooting and diagnostic / repair skills for PCs and peripheral equipment.
Proficiency in typing, Ms Office application usage. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High School Diploma required.
