Full Job Description

Role: Quality Manager – ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Calibration Laboratory

Location: Serving Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain our laboratory's ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation program. Our calibration lab provides precision calibration services across a broad range of disciplines, including Acoustic, Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Vibration/Frequency, Mass/Force/Weighing Devices, Thermodynamic, and Time & Frequency, serving customers throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the laboratory's quality management system meets and continues to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, supporting our accreditation body assessments, and driving a culture of measurement excellence and continuous improvement across all calibration disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for accreditation body assessments, audits, and surveillance visits.
Oversee internal audits, management reviews, and corrective/preventive action processes across all calibration disciplines (Acoustic, Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Vibration/Frequency, Mass/Force/Weighing Devices, Thermodynamic, and Time & Frequency).
Maintain and update quality manuals, SOPs, calibration procedures, and controlled documentation.
Monitor measurement uncertainty budgets, proficiency testing/inter-laboratory comparison participation, and equipment calibration/traceability records.
Investigate nonconformances, customer complaints, and out-of-tolerance conditions; ensure timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Train and mentor laboratory staff on quality system requirements, procedures, and best practices.
Track and report key quality metrics.
Ensure equipment, personnel competency records, and calibration certificates comply with ISO/IEC 17025 and customer/regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with technical staff across multiple states (MO, AR, KS, OK) to ensure consistent quality practices at all service locations.
Stay current with changes to ISO/IEC 17025 and applicable accreditation body policies, updating internal processes as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or technical field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 7+ years of experience in a quality management role within an accredited calibration or testing laboratory.
In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and experience preparing for/hosting accreditation body assessments.
Experience with measurement uncertainty analysis and metrology principles across multiple disciplines preferred (Acoustic, Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Vibration, Mass/Force, Thermodynamic, Time & Frequency).
Strong understanding of document control, calibration traceability, and corrective/preventive action systems.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with quality management software and standard office/productivity tools.
Ability to travel periodically to service locations throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
Internal auditor certification (ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 9001) a plus.
