Full Job Description

The Regional Manager of Operations is a results-oriented leader responsible for overseeing the operational performance, team development, and overall success of assigned Smalltown Dental practices. This position partners closely with Owner Doctors, the COO, CIO, and Smalltown Service Co. to ensure practices consistently achieve operational, financial, clinical-support, and patient experience goals while maintaining the culture and values of Smalltown Dental.

The Regional Manager serves as a key resource and coach for Practice Managers, providing leadership, accountability, and support while maintaining a strong pulse on each practice. Through KPI and P&L analysis, team development, process improvement, and consistent communication, this role identifies opportunities, addresses challenges, and drives sustainable practice growth.

150 Mile radius of Springfield Area

Monday - Friday

Operations & Performance Management

Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of 7-10 assigned Smalltown Dental practices.
Monitor practice KPIs and P&Ls to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
Present performance results, insights, and recommended action plans to the COO and CIO.
Establish clear expectations and accountability around practice performance.
Identify operational risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate them.
Monitor practice schedules, staffing levels, productivity, and capacity to maximize efficiency.
Assist with staff placement and coordinate team members and substitutes between practices as needed.
Maintain a consistent pulse on each office through regular communication, visits, and performance reviews.
Ensure company processes and systems are consistently implemented across assigned practices.
Assist with new practice acquisitions
Fill in as Practice Manager as needed

Leadership & Practice Manager Development

Coach, mentor, and develop Practice Managers to strengthen their leadership and operational capabilities.
Provide ongoing guidance, accountability, and feedback to Practice Managers.
Assist Practice Managers with goal setting, performance management, conflict resolution, and team development.
Support Practice Managers in making informed, timely, and sometimes difficult decisions.
Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.

Training & Process Improvement

Assist with recruitment, interviewing, candidate evaluation, and hiring recommendations.
Create, implement, and utilize training materials and resources.
Assist with onboarding and ongoing training for Business Team members and Practice Managers.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, and practice efficiency.
Lead or support implementation of new processes, technology, and company initiatives.
Monitor adoption and effectiveness of new systems and processes.
Share successful ideas and best practices across practices.

Patient Experience

Utilize patient and team feedback to identify opportunities to improve the patient experience.
Monitor patient concerns and assist practices in developing appropriate resolutions.
Promote consistent, effective, and trustworthy patient communication.
Ensure practices maintain the Smalltown standard of service and patient care.

Key Performance Indicators

The Regional Manager will be accountable for helping assigned practices achieve established company goals, including:

Production and collection growth
New patient growth
Case acceptance
Schedule utilization
Hygiene performance
Patient retention
No-show and cancellation rates
Accounts receivable performance
Payroll and staffing efficiency
Practice profitability
Employee retention
Patient satisfaction and reviews
Practice P&L performance
Successful implementation of company initiatives

The Regional Manager is expected to:

Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support practices where needed.
Continuously look for ways to improve the patient experience, team experience, and financial performance of the organization.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
