We’re looking for a Benefits & Leave Specialist who can bring that same level of care and ownership to one of the most important parts of the employee experience.

About the Role

The Benefits & Leave Specialist will take ownership of the day-to-day administration of Eagle Stop’s employee benefits, workers’ compensation, and leave programs.

This is an ideal role for an HR professional who enjoys being the person people can count on, likes solving problems, and takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll work directly with employees, Store Managers, insurance carriers, brokers, vendors, Payroll, and HR leadership to make sure our employees receive the support and information they need.

You’ll have a high level of ownership over your areas of responsibility, while partnering with HR leadership when situations require additional guidance or decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Benefits Administration

Manage day-to-day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefit programs.
Process new-hire enrollments, qualifying life events, benefit changes, and terminations.
Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and concerns.
Work with insurance carriers, brokers, and vendors to resolve coverage and enrollment issues.
Reconcile benefit invoices and payroll deductions and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate and manage the annual open enrollment process.
Maintain accurate and confidential benefits records.

401(k) Administration

Manage employee 401(k) enrollments and contribution changes.
Coordinate with the 401(k) plan administrator and Payroll.
Assist employees with general questions regarding the plan.
Reconcile contributions and help coordinate annual plan requirements.

Workers’ Compensation

Manage the administrative process for workers’ compensation claims from initial injury through closure.
Coordinate claims with employees, Store Managers, insurance carriers, and medical providers.
Track medical appointments, work restrictions, and return-to-work information.
Maintain accurate claim documentation and provide updates as needed.
Help ensure employees and managers understand the workers’ compensation process.

Leave Administration

Serve as the primary administrator for employee leaves of absence, including FMLA and other applicable leave programs.
Coordinate leave requests, required notices, certifications, recertifications, and return-to-work documentation.
Track leave balances and intermittent leave usage.
Communicate with employees, managers, and Payroll throughout the leave process.
Maintain accurate and confidential leave records.

ADA Accommodations

Coordinate the administrative side of the ADA accommodation process in partnership with HR leadership.
Receive and document accommodation requests.
Gather and maintain appropriate documentation.
Track the interactive process and approved accommodations.
Coordinate with employees and managers to help implement approved accommodations.

HR Support & Compliance

Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations related to assigned responsibilities.
Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance requests.
Identify potential issues and escalate complex or high-risk matters to HR leadership.
Communicate professionally with employees and managers by phone, email, and in person.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee information.
Assist with HR projects, employee communications, and other initiatives as needed.

What We’re Looking For

At least 2 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, leave administration, or a related field.
Hands-on experience administering employee benefits.
Experience with FMLA/leave administration and workers’ compensation is preferred.
Experience with 401(k) administration is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Experience working with an HRIS and Microsoft Office.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation
