Full Job Description

***You must be an experienced cook and an exemplary employee that has a strong work ethic, desire to show up on time, work well with others, lead by example, not have an attitude and not fold under pressure. You must be open to constructive criticism and fine tune your cooking to how the owner wants it presented.

You must know how to cook. You must know how to work a fryer and time things accurately with regard to when food goes down in unison with other items and when food gets pulled up from the fryer avoiding burns, or undercooking.

You must know how to work a grill and how to cook beef, pork, chicken and fish. You must know how to cook a ribeye accurately. You must know how read tickets, how to work ahead and stay on top of dishes that need to go out, ones that are being currently worked on, and ones that have yet to be put down. You must communicate with your crew effectively and ensure the customer and servers get their food. You must be able to learn and adapt fast, memorizing skillets, omelette ingredients, and what comes with breakfast specials.

You must know how to cook every single type of egg common in a cafe setting. You must know how to cook and flip an omelette. You have to know how to make hash browns crispy.

You must know how to flip pancakes and French toast. You have to know how to cut a club, you must know how to cook grits and oatmeal.

You have to be able to work a stove. You must know how to make white gravy, brown gravy, mashed potatoes. You also have to be able to work an oven.

If you are applying for this job, it is expected that you will know how to operate multiple facets of a kitchen. The menu takes time to learn, but failure to yield results according to the owners expectations laid out here with regard to work ethic and aptitude will result in termination.

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a lead cook. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic culinary environment and contribute to the preparation of delicious meals.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards
- Assist with meal preparation and service in collaboration with the dietary department
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and mixers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
- Assist in dishwashing duties as needed
- Support culinary staff with various tasks including menu planning and food safety practices

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a culinary role is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Experience with catering or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills and willingness to help colleagues as needed
- Flexibility to perform various tasks within the kitchen setting
