Full Job Description

Medical Front Desk Team Member

Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center has been meeting specialized eye care needs for over 26 years. Our Springfield location has a full-time Front Desk Team Member open position. We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic and energetic individual who is organized and has a positive attitude and a desire to help individuals with their health care needs.

This position will require basic clerical tasks such as greeting patients with a professional, respectful and caring attitude while checking in/checking out, scheduling, confirming appointments, verifying benefits and collecting payments. Previous experience in the healthcare and medical field required including knowledge of medical insurance. This position is full-time, Monday – Friday, no evenings or weekends required and offers a competitive hourly wage.

Job Duties Include:

Welcome and greet all patients and visitors
Register new patients to verify insurance eligibility. Requires medical insurance knowledge to verify insurance eligibility through electronic resources.
Update existing patient demographics
Collect patients out of pocket liability (co-pays, co-insurance & deductibles)
Protect patient confidentiality
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized

Required Skills/Qualification:

One year medical office experience required
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Effectively communicate with patients, in a kind, courteous and patient manner
Effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisor
Ability to multi-task
Ability to use standard office equipment
Proficient with Microsoft Office program or other software required
Good attendance/dependability
