Kitchen Shift Leader | Alamo Drafthouse Springfield $19.00 /hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Being a kitchen shift-lead contributes to Alamo Drafthouse success by assisting the management team in executing theater operations. You'll have to master our Pizza, Grill, Fry, and Expo lines before we can consider you for this leadership role. We are only looking for team leaders who will hold the rest of the crew accountable.

This job assists and leads a team to create and maintain the Alamo Drafthouse experience for our guests and team members. The kitchen shift-lead is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Alamo Handbook, mission statement, and guiding principles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicates clearly, concisely, and accurately in order to ensure effective kitchen operations. Communication is filtered to the team, as directed by management, in the form of shift-notes, shift meetings, work assignments, line checks, logs/health code compliance, and coaching opportunities
Checks the delivery against the invoice to insure that all product has been delivered, is undamaged, and of acceptable quality.
Utilizes and provides direction to team members during their shift on the use of kitchen tools and equipment.
Acts as a coach and mentor to team members by providing feedback to improve team performance. Coaching is done in the moment to correct negative behaviors
Assigns staff to label and shelve everything, noting who is responsible for what on the truck sheet and the walk in.
Follows up and physically verifies that the product is labeled, put into its proper place, and properly rotated.
Contributes to a positive team environment, leading the shift by example. Maintains and models a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events
Develops positive relationships with team members by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns
Engages in conversation with FOH employees to understand guest needs.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Demonstrates strong organizational ability, and is able to strategize and execute in times of high-volume business
Delivers exceptional food quality, safety, and sanitation as well as supervises team members to ensure they are delivering to the same standards
Models a strong knowledge of food, sanitation, and health code
Receives product properly as follows:

QUALIFICATIONS

A really great attitude, and the ability to share that attitude with the guests and team working with you to achieve the best Alamo experience for All.
Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment is required
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience of at least 6 months in a high-volume kitchen environment
Demonstrated food-handling techniques, knife skills, and how to use kitchen equipment.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, read recipes, and perform recipe conversions
You know and continue to adhere to all applicable state health compliance requirements (including getting licenses/certifications where applicable)
Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekend, and shifts from morning through late night.
Comfortable with wearing a cloth or face-covering, gloves, goggles, and personal protective body covering at all times.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Remotely
