Job Description
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of International Admissions & Global Enrollment Resources, the International Admission Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the international admissions office at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). This role works collaboratively with the Director of International Admissions & Global Enrollment Resources and Associate Directors for International Recruitment to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of international admissions processes. Must have US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency as per US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) guidelines for DSOs.
Key Responsibilities
International Admissions Operations
Implements and maintains international admissions procedures to support the efficient, accurate, and consistent processing of undergraduate and graduate applications.
Exercises independent judgment when reviewing applications, resolving applicant concerns, and interpreting admissions policies and procedures.
Reviews applications and supporting documentation to determine admissibility in accordance with institutional policies and established practices.
Ensures timely and accurate processing of admission decisions and applicant communications.
Maintains effective working relationships with students, faculty, advisors, administrators, and recruitment partners.
Identifies operational challenges and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Maintains accurate student records and admissions data within university systems.
International Credential Evaluation & Transfer Credit
Evaluates international academic credentials and transfer coursework to support admissions decisions, academic placement, and degree progression.
Determines U.S. educational equivalencies, transferable credit, grade conversions, and cumulative GPA calculations for international transcripts.
Facilitates international transfer credit evaluations in accordance with university policies and articulation agreements.
Maintains expertise in international educational systems, transfer credit practices, and credential evaluation methodologies.
Interprets and communicates evaluation results, transfer credit policies, and academic requirements to students, faculty, and staff.
Compliance, Documentation & Student Records
Administers processes that support compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements related to international admissions and student records.
Reviews documentation to ensure adherence to admissions policies, credential verification standards, and established procedures.
Identifies and escalates cases involving suspected fraud, policy exceptions, or other compliance concerns.
Collaborates with Global Students & Experiences staff to support documentation review and processes related to I-20 and DS-2019 issuance.
Maintains accurate records and documentation to support reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
Ensures the confidentiality and appropriate handling of applicant and student information.
Scholarships & Student Support
Determines scholarship eligibility and award amounts in accordance with institutional guidelines.
Reviews scholarship awards and notifications for accuracy.
Serves as a liaison with Student Financial Services and other campus partners to assist students in resolving funding-related concerns.
Provides information regarding admissions requirements, scholarships, transfer credit, and enrollment procedures.
Operational Support & Special Projects
Coordinates the work of student assistants engaged in document processing, record maintenance, data entry, and related operational activities.
Develops and maintains procedural documentation and training resources.
Participates in special projects and initiatives that support the admission, enrollment, retention, and engagement of international students.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of departmental and university goals.
Shift
40 hours/week. Monday thru Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service with the ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
Two or more years of experience in international admissions, international recruitment, or a closely related field.
Strong attention to detail with experience handling confidential information and maintaining a high standard of data accuracy and integrity.
Proven ability to independently manage projects from initiation through completion while maintaining effective communication with admissions leadership and key stakeholders.
Knowledge of the higher education admissions landscape, particularly international admissions, and an interest in emerging trends and issues affecting the field.
Flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak recruitment and admissions cycles.
Experience using higher education CRM and student information systems, with preference given to candidates familiar with PeopleSoft, Slate, Enroll ML, or similar enterprise platforms.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$53,976-$69,576
