Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and learning ordering. This position requires a passion for food service and an understanding of culinary techniques. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
Constant communication with chefs and other kitchen supervisors to ensure timely execution of prep responsibilities.
Participate in ordering and be proactive with par level changes, affected by product turnover and product availability.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary skills is highly desirable.
Experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is a plus.
Strong knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure are important for success in this role.
