PASTRY CHEF

Position Summary:

Nobu Atlanta, part of the internationally acclaimed Nobu Restaurant Group, is seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented pastry professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is committed to delivering exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who inspires excellence, develops talent, and maintains the highest culinary standards.

The Pastry Chef is responsible for the daily leadership and operation of the pastry department, overseeing production, team development, scheduling, quality control, inventory, menu innovation, and cost management. This role works closely with restaurant and hotel leadership to ensure an exceptional guest experience while maintaining Nobu's world-class standards.

Responsibilities:

Lead the daily operations of the pastry department with a strong hands-on presence.
Ensure the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency for all pastry and dessert offerings.
Supervise pastry production, daily preparation, and service execution.
Schedule, delegate, and prioritize daily responsibilities for the pastry team.
Recruit, train, mentor, coach, and develop pastry staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and address performance concerns professionally and consistently.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and product usage to minimize waste.
Foster strong communication and collaboration with restaurant leadership and hotel management.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and workplace safety requirements.
Promote a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of pastry leadership experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or luxury hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of pastry production, baking techniques, dessert presentation, and menu development.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of food and labor cost controls and basic P&L management.
Experience in a luxury hotel or resort environment is preferred but not required.
A passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
