Full Job Description

**Job Overview:**

The AAAWLC’s HousingWORKs program is dedicated to providing essential housing support services to families at risk of homelessness. In collaboration with First 5 of San Joaquin and various service agencies, HousingWORKS specifically serves CalWORKs families with children ages 0 to 18 who are facing the imminent risk of homelessness.

Our program is designed to offer comprehensive support, connecting families to the resources and assistance they need to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency. Through targeted interventions and community partnerships, HousingWORKS is committed to preventing homelessness and fostering resilience within our community.

**Duties:**

Proactive Outreach: Identify and engage families facing housing challenges through targeted outreach efforts, building trust and rapport within the community.
Collaboration: Work closely with community partners to streamline housing solutions and support services, facilitating case conferencing to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
Trauma-Informed Support: Create a supportive environment where participants feel validated and affirmed during every interaction, applying trauma-informed principles in all aspects of your work.
Rapid Rehousing and Preventative Services: Implement Rapid Rehousing strategies and preventative services to contribute to the long-term stability of program participants.
Case Management and Care Coordination: Assist families in overcoming barriers, developing SMART goals, and connecting them to community resources and advocacy. Provide ongoing support to ensure sustainable progress.
Crisis Intervention and Support: Provide immediate crisis intervention services for families facing urgent housing crises, working quickly to prevent homelessness and connect them with emergency resources.
Resource Development and Networking: Identify and develop relationships with new community resources and service providers to expand the network of support available to families. Actively seek out additional resources that can assist families in achieving housing stability.
Family Empowerment and Advocacy: Empower families to advocate for themselves by providing education on tenant rights, housing laws, and how to navigate the housing system. Support families in developing the skills they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
Communication Skills: Advocate for and with community members, clearly communicating on behalf of the organization. Share context and engage in active listening to understand and address others' perspectives.
Cultural Fluency: Demonstrate an understanding of cultural norms and perspectives, adapting communication and responses to achieve shared meaning and effectively support diverse populations.
Grant and Progress Reporting: Complete grant and progress reports, develop success stories, and share lessons learned with funders, community partners, and the broader community.
Cultural Messaging Development: Assist in creating and designing content that resonates with the community, ensuring messaging is culturally relevant and impactful.
Workshops and Educational Sessions: Organize and facilitate workshops or educational sessions on topics related to housing stability, financial literacy, and other relevant subjects to help families build skills that support long-term success.
Program Evaluation and Feedback: Regularly gather feedback from program participants to assess the effectiveness of services and identify areas for improvement. Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and refinement of the program.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using our data management systems, contributing to the program's overall success.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the HousingWORKS program's goals.

Cultural Competency: Strong grasp of cultural norms and perspectives, with the ability to communicate and work effectively within diverse communities.
Crisis Intervention Skills: Experience in providing crisis intervention and support, particularly in housing or related services, with a focus on rapid response and stabilization.
Resource Development: Ability to identify and develop relationships with new community resources and service providers, expanding the network of support available to families.
Advocacy and Empowerment: Experience in empowering clients through education on tenant rights, housing laws, and self-advocacy, helping them navigate systems and achieve self-sufficiency.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of the organization and the families served.
Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
