Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized independent Bookkeeper to perform bookkeeping with approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks & MS Excel and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in a law firm environment, managing IOLTA accounts, tracking client expenditures & office payables and receivables, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This work requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in financial reporting.

Also the ability to tract residential and commercial property rental income, expenses, tenant invoicing/billing and account reconcilliation on multiple company rental properties.

Must be reliable and possess strong organizational and communicative skills.

Responsibilities

Perform regular bookkeeping tasks including journal entries and account analysis
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
Conduct general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
Assist with governmental accounting requirements as needed
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
Maintain organized records for audits and compliance purposes

Seeking part time independent bookkeeper withe a good working knowledge of QuickBooks in a law office environment. Ability to tract funds held in a trust account, case cost expenditures, preparation of deposits, check writing, bill paying, customer invoicing/billing and account reconcilliations for multiple bank accounts.

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits
Experience with financial report writing and analysis
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
