Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial data. Your expertise will support our organization’s financial health by handling complex accounting tasks, reconciling accounts, and maintaining meticulous records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and financial acumen will drive operational success.

Responsibilities

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Conduct account reconciliation activities, including double entry bookkeeping and account analysis to verify data integrity.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards.
Utilize accounting systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and Ceridian for data entry, payroll processing, and reporting.
Support internal controls compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and audits.
Analyze financial data using Excel data analysis tools and spreadsheets to identify trends and discrepancies.
Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while maintaining accuracy in all transactions.
Assist with budgeting processes, credit analysis, and cash flow management to support strategic planning efforts.
Ensure timely processing of journal entries related to debits & credits while maintaining adherence to company policies.

Experience

Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as GAAP, governmental accounting, and technical accounting standards.
Experience working with multiple financial software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, ADP, Kronos or UltiPro is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bookkeeping practices.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks is advantageous.
Strong numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
Previous experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles that involved data entry, customer service related to finance functions, and handling confidential information effectively.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate math calculations such as debits & credits and journal entries under tight deadlines.
