Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this essential role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure smooth daily operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all patients. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to delivering outstanding dental care.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day.
Verify patient insurance coverage, explain treatment plans, and collect payments while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth with accuracy and confidentiality.
Handle medical billing processes including coding with CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and Medicare requirements to ensure proper reimbursement.
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, maintaining meticulous medical records in compliance with health information management standards.
Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette, address patient inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately.
Maintain office supplies, file patient records systematically, and perform clerical tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools.
Support clinical staff by managing care plans documentation and assisting with medical administrative support tasks as needed.
Stay informed about health insurance policies related to dental services and assist patients with insurance questions.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment with strong front desk responsibilities.
Dentrix Dental Software experience or similar is needed.
Knowledge of dental coding and claims attachments standards for PPO and Medicare billing procedures.
Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records management.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
Prior experience with medical billing, documentation review, or health information management is advantageous.
Dental Office experience is required.
