Full Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team and lead the development and implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The BCBA will be responsible for conducting assessments, designing individualized behavior intervention plans, supervising behavior technicians, and collaborating with families and other professionals to support clients in achieving their goals.

As a BCBA, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals by improving their quality of life, fostering independence, and helping them achieve meaningful outcomes in social, communication, academic, and daily living skills.

Required Education & Experience:

Education:

a. Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.

b. BCBA certification required (Board-Certified Behavior Analyst).

Experience:

a. At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.

b. Prior experience in designing, implementing, and supervising ABA programs.

c. Experience supervising and training staff, particularly behavior technicians or RBTs.

Certifications, Clearances, Insurance:

CPR and First Aid certification (Required)

TB test Clearance (Required)

Pass Background check (Required)

Driver’s license (Required)

Proof of automobile insurance (Required)

Skills & Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of ABA principles, techniques, and research.

Strong ability to assess, analyze, and interpret behavior data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ABA concepts to families and staff.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Ability to maintain a professional, compassionate, and positive approach in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Assessments:

A. Perform comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill assessments to evaluate client needs, strengths, and areas of improvement.

B. Use assessment tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, or other standardized instruments to assess language, cognitive, and adaptive skills.

C. Analyze data from assessments to develop clear, measurable goals for clients.

2. Develop and Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs):

A. Create individualized behavior intervention plans based on the results of the functional behavior assessments, targeting both skill acquisition and behavior reduction.

B. Implement evidence-based ABA strategies to teach communication, social skills, and daily living skills, while addressing maladaptive behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injury, tantrums).

C. Tailor interventions to the unique needs of each client, adjusting plans as needed to ensure progress and generalization of skills.

3. Supervise and Train Behavior Technicians:

A. Provide direct supervision to Behavior Technicians (BTs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and other staff members implementing ABA programs.

B. Conduct regular supervision meetings to review client progress, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to intervention protocols.

C. Train and mentor staff in ABA techniques, data collection, and ethical practices.

4. Monitor and Analyze Client Progress:

A. Collect and analyze data regularly to assess client progress toward goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

B. Use data to inform decisions about the continuation, modification, or termination of specific interventions.

C. Ensure ongoing monitoring of client behavior and the effectiveness of interventions.

5. Collaboration with Families and Multidisciplinary Teams:

A. Work closely with families to provide education, guidance, and support in implementing behavior strategies at home.

B. Meet with family members regularly to review progress, discuss concerns, and adjust plans as needed.

C. Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to care.

6. Ensure Ethical and Professional Practices:

A. Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) ethical guidelines and professional standards.

B. Maintain client confidentiality and handle all information in a manner consistent with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.

C. Advocate for the dignity and rights of clients while delivering services that promote autonomy and independence.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if necessary (e.g., in emergencies or for clients requiring physical assistance).

Comfortable working in home-based or community settings, with flexibility for travel to clients' homes, schools, or other locations.
