About Us: We are a premier custom home builder based in Tampa, Florida, dedicated to crafting high-quality, bespoke homes. Our team prides itself on exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and maintaining long-lasting relationships with our clients and vendor partners. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team and work directly under our Lead Accountant.

Position Overview: The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the daily financial operations of our home-building projects. You will work closely with the Lead Accountant to manage payables, receivables, vendor relations, and organizational systems. This is an ideal position for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and understands the importance of accuracy and timeliness in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (A/P): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders with job costs, and schedule timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
Accounts Receivable (A/R): Assist in preparing client billings, tracking incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
Vendor Management: Maintain positive relations with vendors, respond to billing inquiries, and ensure statements are reconciled promptly.
Filing & Systems Management: Establish, organize, and maintain electronic and physical accounting records, ensuring audit-readiness and easy record retrieval.
General Administrative Support: Assist the Lead Accountant with month-end reporting, data entry, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping support experience (construction accounting experience is a plus, but not required).
Skills: Strong understanding of basic A/P and A/R processes and general accounting principles.
Software: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Online or industry-specific tools) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with high accuracy in data entry.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with vendors, contractors, and internal staff.
