The Role

We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Cashier to support the financial operations of our firm. This is a hybrid role: part traditional bookkeeper (managing our books in QuickBooks, accounts payable, check writing) and part broker-dealer cashier (processing client money movements, deposits, and wires). You'll work closely with our CFO to keep the firm's cash position, payables, and reporting current and accurate.

What You'll Do

Perform daily bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks, including trial balance review and clearing unclassified items
Monitor and process incoming wires and client funds
Prepare daily and weekly deposit and cash reports
Handle a recurring schedule of weekly and monthly accounting tasks — including accounts payable, bill retrieval, and vendor payments
Complete monthly FINRA and commission reconciliations, sales tax filings, and other compliance-related reporting
Process client and firm money movements, including deposits to client and firm bank accounts
Pick up mail from the PO Box daily
Keep the CFO informed on cash balances, upcoming payables, and other cash-management items

What We're Looking For

Required

3+ years of bookkeeping and/or cashiering experience
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
Strong data entry skills and a knack for numbers
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and web-based databases
Proficiency in MS Office
High degree of accuracy; well organized and detail oriented
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and a high level of integrity
Ability to interface effectively with clients, coworkers, and management while maintaining confidentiality

Preferred

Proficiency in Intuit QuickBooks
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline

Employment Details

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, in-office (St. Petersburg, FL)
Supplemental pay: Bonus pay
