POSITION SUMMARY
Kasyris Management & Consulting is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our growing outpatient occupational therapy team within a community-based healthcare setting.
This is a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist interested in working beyond the traditional boundaries of outpatient rehabilitation. Our therapists collaborate with medical providers, behavioral health professionals, rehabilitation staff, and primary care teams within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.
The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation, assessment, treatment, education, and coordination of care for an adult patient population presenting with a broad range of orthopedic, neurological, chronic disease, behavioral health, aging-related, and functional conditions.
The ideal candidate is clinically strong, collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working as an active member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and treat adult patients with orthopedic, neurological, musculoskeletal, chronic disease, behavioral health, aging-related, and other conditions affecting functional performance and independence.
- Develop individualized, evidence-informed plans of care based on evaluation findings, patient goals, medical history, functional limitations, and occupational performance.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions addressing areas including ADLs/IADLs, upper-extremity function, strength, range of motion, pain, functional mobility, activity tolerance, self-management, and participation in meaningful daily activities.
- Coordinate the patient's occupational therapy care pathway from initial evaluation through treatment, reassessment, discharge planning, and appropriate follow-up.
- Collaborate directly with physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health professionals, nursing, physical therapy, and other members of the primary care team.
- Participate in interdisciplinary communication, care coordination, provider outreach, and appropriate warm handoffs between medical and rehabilitation services.
- Advocate for occupational therapy services and assist healthcare providers in identifying patients who may benefit from OT intervention.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Work collaboratively with administrative and support staff to facilitate referrals, scheduling, authorizations, billing processes, documentation, and continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, providers, colleagues, and organizational leadership.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapy and other clinical disciplines regarding shared patients, clinical space, equipment, and coordinated treatment planning.
- Participate in staff meetings, provider meetings, clinical education, quality-improvement activities, and other organizational initiatives as appropriate.
- Maintain clinical treatment areas and equipment in a professional, organized, safe, and patient-ready manner.
- Follow organizational policies, clinical standards, operational procedures, and guidance established by clinical and organizational leadership.
- Maintain proficiency with electronic medical record systems. Experience with Epic is preferred.
- Participate in the clinical education and supervision of Level I and Level II occupational therapy students when assigned and appropriately qualified.
- Contribute to continued development and growth of occupational therapy programming within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current or eligible Michigan Occupational Therapist license.
- NBCOT certification or eligibility consistent with Michigan licensure requirements.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, and standards of practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of functional anatomy, range of motion, movement, therapeutic activity/exercise, and commonly utilized rehabilitation interventions.
- Ability to perform and interpret appropriate clinical assessments and objective measurements, including goniometry and grip/pinch testing.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Ability to manage multiple clinical responsibilities while maintaining quality, professionalism, and attention to patient care.
Preferred:
- 3–5 years of outpatient, adult rehabilitation, primary care, community health, orthopedic, neurological, or related clinical experience.
- Experience working within an FQHC, primary care, interdisciplinary, or community healthcare environment.
- Experience with Epic or comparable electronic medical record systems.
- Working knowledge of rehabilitation billing, coding, insurance authorization, and scheduling processes.
- Experience supervising or mentoring occupational therapy students.
- Additional clinical training or specialty skills applicable to an adult outpatient population.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates within a professional outpatient healthcare environment. The Occupational Therapist will routinely interact face-to-face with patients, physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health professionals, rehabilitation professionals, administrative personnel, and other members of the healthcare team.
The position requires the ability to transition between direct patient care, documentation, interdisciplinary communication, care coordination, and other clinical responsibilities throughout the workday.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Occupational Therapist must be able to safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with outpatient occupational therapy practice. Responsibilities may include positioning or assisting patients, demonstrating therapeutic activities, handling treatment equipment, moving carts or treatment materials, and safely assisting patients with functional mobility or transfers when clinically necessary.

SUPERVISORY & COLLABORATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending upon experience, qualifications, and organizational need, the Occupational Therapist may provide clinical education, mentorship, or supervision to:
- Level I Occupational Therapy students
- Level II Occupational Therapy students
- Occupational Therapy Doctoral Capstone students
- Volunteers, observers, or clinical mentees
The Occupational Therapist reports directly to the Director of Occupational Therapy and Operations Manager.
COMPENSATION
$38.00–$48.00+ per hour
*Final compensation will be based upon experience, qualifications, specialty skills, and responsibilities associated with the position.
