Full Job Description

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Belknap County Supervision Program (BCSP) Director, the Case Manager oversees and supervises clients participating in Adult Pretrial, Adult Diversion, and Juvenile Diversion programs. The Case Manager provides referrals to counseling and treatment services, court rehabilitation programs, community housing resources, and advocacy services for adolescents and their families. This position also connects adolescents and community volunteers with meaningful community service opportunities throughout Belknap County.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure effective case management of all defendants assigned to Belknap County Supervision Program;
Make recommendations and referrals to outside agencies for clients requiring special services.
Coordinate and cooperate with courts, prosecutors, law enforcement officials, corrections personnel, schools, government agencies, social service agencies. and defense attorneys to ensure effective communication and information sharing;
Supervises adults and adolescents through the Supervision process by conducting intakes; attends Court hearings, Facilitates Reparative Panels, tracks and assists program participants in completing their community service obligations
Produce appropriate reports to analyze defendant’s compliance or violations of the court ordered requirements;
Conduct/manage random urine testing on BCSP clients and provide information on referral services.
Request and maintain Criminal Record Checks
Provides solid record keeping system with in-depth documentation of client case histories and background, services provided, recommendations made, follow-up etc
Testify in court proceedings
Maintain appropriate security and confidentiality of all information and materials encountered in the performance of his/her duties
Responds to crisis situations as necessary.
Attend workshops and conferences to maintain supervision certification requirements.
Assist in updating policies, operational procedures, programs, and statistical data
Provides reports to the Director on the program, including but not limited to; statistics on clients served, financial status, program evaluation, and budget preparation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a criminal justice-related field is preferred from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, counseling, social services, Psychology, or a related field is required.
Three to five years in criminal justice or social services management or administration, or Psychology or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge skills and abilities.
