Overview

On 6/1, I purchased a very healthy Allstate Agency. @$15 million in premiums, >8000 Pif. Month 1 we were up 30 pct in new business. Month 2 we are on track to be up 60% year over year. We are now 3rd in MD for new business premiums. My team didn’t know what to think initially, but they love it now! We have a hybrid work structure. I pay above market commissions and will be offering a 401k with a small match and money towards healthcare. All of these after a 90 day probationary period.

Significant support with marketing planned, social media campaigns coming, boatloads of cross-sell and win back opportunities and significant spend on leads. Very little of this marketing push is even deployed. My plan is to get to up pct 100 pct by this fall! I don’t write, my goal is to make your phone ring!!!

In a short time we have built a very tight focus that is impacting our sales process which should drive us to be not only a growing agency but also a profitable agency. This means more to share with the team and that is what I believe will drive the loyalty needed to build the company I desire to run.

What do I need from you? This role is not a service role. I expect this person to be a sales person through and through. I expect 40 items a month (within 4 months). This would equate to well north of $50k in premiums. This requires heavy outbound call volumes, at least 8 quotes a day, and 2 items sold a day. We track these metrics and will discuss them regularly. This is an $80-90k a year job year one till you get fully ramped. If you make it to year two and are consistently hitting these numbers, this should be $100k+ a year job. I have an agent who will significantly exceed these metrics this year. There is a ton of upside potential.

My preference is a licensed P&C agent (at least personal lines, but we do a lot of busienss and life, so those licenses would be a plus) willing to work at least 3 days a week out of an office in Perry Hall, MD. We do have a second office in Suitland, MD. We focus heavily on the home and condo market in MD, DC, and Northern VA. So, if you have a real estate or mortgage background, I am listening. My most successful new hire was a former mtg broker. She’s killing it, remote from Texas! My team is also multilingual. Spanish, French, Arabic, Vietnamese , and more! We definitely could use more multilingual agents. Spanish, Indian, Vietnamese, Etc…

Responsibilities

Engage with prospective clients through outside sales efforts, including community outreach, networking events, and telemarketing campaigns to generate new business opportunities.
Conduct thorough client consultations to assess insurance needs across health, life, property casualty, and commercial lines, providing clear explanations of coverage options.
Negotiate policy terms and pricing with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements that meet regulatory standards.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service, follow-up support, and ongoing communication to enhance client satisfaction.
Manage sales administration tasks using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools to track leads, document client interactions, and process policy applications efficiently.
Stay informed about industry regulations, insurance products, and market trends such as HIPAA compliance, benefits administration, and insurance regulation updates.
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop strategies that attract new clients and promote our comprehensive insurance offerings.

Experience

Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales environments with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent communication abilities in both client-facing interactions and team collaborations.
Knowledge of health insurance, life insurance, property casualty insurance, and commercial insurance products is highly desirable.
Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office suite, and telemarketing techniques to manage client information effectively.
Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are a plus for engaging diverse client bases.
Demonstrated customer service skills with an emphasis on building long-term client relationships through active listening and personalized solutions.
Previous experience in sales administration or benefits administration is advantageous; understanding of insurance regulation and HIPAA compliance is preferred.
Experience with Allstate systems would be a significant plus.
