Join a premier Academic-Affiliated Healthcare Center as a Lead Oncology Clinical Pharmacist supporting a growing Outpatient Cancer Center. This unique position combines advanced oncology pharmacy practice, clinical leadership, operational improvement, compliance oversight, and collaboration with oncologists and multidisciplinary teams.

This is an opportunity to become the clinical pharmacy expert guiding oncology medication management, infusion pharmacy operations, and quality improvement initiatives while making a direct impact on cancer patient care.

Approximately 3+ days of clinical practice and 1–1.5 days of administrative responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

$80–$115/hour base compensation

About the Oncology Cancer Center

Join an established Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Center supported by:

8 Oncologists
Academic affiliation with a major university medical center
Oncology research programs and grant-supported initiatives
Graduate Medical Education (GME) residents
Joint faculty appointments
400+ bed nonprofit teaching hospital and trauma center

The pharmacy department has received multiple ASHP Best Practice Awards and is recognized nationally for excellence in clinical pharmacy services.

Lead Oncology Pharmacist Responsibilities

As the Lead Oncology Clinical Pharmacist, you will:

Provide advanced clinical pharmacy services for complex oncology therapies
Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
Support safe and effective chemotherapy treatment plans
Oversee oncology IV compounding and infusion pharmacy operations
Ensure compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards
Promote medication safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
Guide pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through mentorship and clinical expertise
Partner with Cancer Center leadership to improve workflows and patient care delivery
Participate in oncology pharmacy initiatives, committees, and process improvement projects

Clinic volume:

Monday–Thursday

Approximately 80–85 compounded preparations daily
Approximately 30–45 oncology patients daily

Friday

Approximately 40 compounded preparations daily
Approximately 15–20 oncology patients daily

50+ Clinical Pharmacists
80% residency-trained and board-certified
Integrated decentralized pharmacy practice model
Average daily census approximately 410 patients
Active involvement in pharmacy residency education and graduate medical education

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Oncology pharmacy experience, preferably in an infusion center, cancer center, or ambulatory oncology setting

Preferred:

Experience with chemotherapy workflows
Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> compliance standards

Ideal candidate:
