Job Purpose:
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician working with the Rite Stuff Foods, you will join our site in the frozen food snack sector. This job is based in a leading-edge facility in Jerome, Idaho.
This position is crucial for the integrity and reliability of electrical systems, encompassing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. A hands-on approach is essential for meeting specifications and regulatory compliance, thereby optimizing system performance and efficiency.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with facilities/operations teams to offer technical support for electrical systems within the operational and maintenance phases.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting in accordance with Master Specifications, Standard Installation Details (SID), and state and local electrical codes.
- Act as a key liaison with System Owners/Engineers, contractors and technicians on operational issues affecting system quality and performance.
- Identify and assist in resolving electrical-related construction and maintenance issues.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and complete equipment sign-off processes, ensuring all systems meet rigorous standards.
- Prepare and coordinate with client system owners, ensuring all preventive and corrective maintenance actions are properly executed.
- Address technical queries and respond to electrical systems maintenance and operations queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Other duties as assigned to support this role.
With the expected sales growth, product diversification, and higher demand in service excellence, Rite Stuff Food (RSF) has an open position for an Electrical Maintenance Technician, as a part of our maintenance department.
Qualifications / Experience:
Education:
- Experienced in electrical manufacturing maintenance
- Familiar with common electrical measuring instruments and Good Practices.
- Knowledge of state and national electrical codes.
- Running and start-up of industrial equipment.
- 3 years or more of work in electrical and/or instrumentation technician.
- Education will be considered.
Safety
- Familiar with basic electrical safety procedure:
- Good Practices, PPEs, SOPs, and LOTO.
Maintenance, troubleshooting
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Able to identify root-causes of a problem by proper use of instruments and good knowledge of electrical properties of usual components (relays, OL, motors, VFD, etc.).
- Experience with common electrical periodical and preventive maintenance techniques and planning.
- Familiar with preparation and implementations of SOP and SSOP, addressed to the rest of the maintenance team as well as the whole plant personnel
Power distribution
- Familiarity with power distribution and installation.
- Familiar with common motors control techniques (VFD, D/Y, etc.) and components: installation and troubleshooting.
- Able to configurate a VFD.
Automation and instrumentation
- Basic programming, modification of PLC
- Familiar with common electrical instruments, selection, usage, and trouble shooting.
- Experience with communication protocol (HART, etc.) an advantage, but not required.
- Able to run a root-causes analysis on a PLC and/or an HMI
Instrumentation / Calibration
- Knowledge of common measuring instruments and their properties.
- Able to calibrate and verify calibration of common instruments.
- Experience with simple regulators.
Continuous improvement
- The candidate will be requested to participate and contribute to the plant continuous improvement activities and predictive maintenance.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of common pneumatic and hydraulic systems with the able to diagnose and trouble shoot.
Not required, but a plus in the selection:
- Industrial equipment installation and commissioning experience.
- Food manufacturing experience.
Work attitude
- Organized, in his daily routine as well as in the workplace.
- Keeps personal and common tools and instruments neat and in good working conditions.
- Anticipate any issue (necessary spare parts, tools, consumables, etc.) to avoid delays and equipment down time.
Languages:
- English: fluent or advanced level
- Spanish: an advantage, not required
Software:
- MS Office.
- AB and/or Siemens programs; any other design and/or control software an advantage.
Skills:
- Team player, good communicator, willing to train team colleagues, production operators, mechanics, and other maintenance team members.
- Service oriented, high sense of urgency.
- Skilled trouble-shooter.
