Job Summary:

The BSA/AML Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and related laws. This role involves monitoring transactions, conducting investigations, and preparing reports to detect and prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. The specialist will review alerts, analyze customer activity, and escalate suspicious transactions for further review. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, supporting audits and regulatory examinations, and staying current with evolving compliance requirements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of regulatory guidelines are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Alert Management: Review daily reports, transaction alerts, and other data to identify potentially suspicious activity.
Investigation: Investigate alerts and cases generated by AML monitoring systems, document findings, and escalate serious issues for further action.
CTR and SAR Filing: Prepare and/or filing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) according to regulatory guidelines.
Customer Due Diligence: Conduct customer due diligence reviews, including enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers.
BSA/AML Compliance Program Support: Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the institution's BSA/AML compliance program.
Training and Education: Assist with providing guidance and training to appropriate staff on BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance requirements.
Audits and Exams: Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and risk assessments.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date on evolving BSA/AML and Sanctions regulations and as needed, ensure the institution's policies and procedures align with these changes.
OFAC Sanctions Compliance: Assist with OFAC sanctions compliance requirements.
Support BSA Officer and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, criminal justice, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Professional certifications preferred, such as CBAP (Certified BSA/AML Professional) and/or CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).
Knowledge and experience with BSA/AML regulations and compliance requirements.
Previous experience in financial institution operations/compliance preferred.
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to recognize and apply discretion on confidential matters.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in using BSA/AML systems and other relevant tools. (Current Core: Fiserv - Current AML Monitoring System: Verafin)
Must be U.S. Citizen authorized to work in the United States.
Must have reliable transportation to allow travel to/from work.
Must be capable of working in a fast-paced office environment, interacting with staff and customers in person and electronically.
Ability to work an 8-hour workday/40-hour work week (M-F), which may occasionally require after-hours or a Saturday, based on bank demands/schedules.
Adherence to all bank policies and banking regulations, laws, and acts.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, requiring a 40-hour work week, at the Bank of the West location in Grapevine (located at 108 W. Northwest Hwy). This position is not a remote-working position.

General Working Conditions:

While performing the assigned job duties, employees must be able to communicate clearly verbally and electronically with individuals. Employees must physically be capable of staying seated/standing in place for extended periods of time, they must also have full use of hands to allow efficient use of a keyboard and mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands/arms and carry items (up to 10 pounds) and perform installation of banking equipment. This position requires extended periods of work on a desktop computer. This position also requires professional and appropriate interaction with staff members, customers, and the public.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
