Full Job Description

Job Title: Loan Processor
Department: Lending Operations
Reports to: Mortgage and Commercial Processing Manager
Location: Tyler, TX
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt | Full-Time
Supervises: None

Loan Processor

The Loan Processor will be responsible for preforming a variety of duties related to the centralized processing and administration of consumer, commercial and real estate loans utilizing various software including, but not limited to, LaserPro Lending, Fiserv Core processor, and MS Office suite. Loan Processors are expected to have appropriate time management skills and an acute attention to detail to provide accurate disclosures, documents and meet regulatory timing requirements. The processor must be able to multi-task and work at an efficient pace. In addition to processing and closing related loans, the processor is responsible for loan boarding to the bank’s core system and responsible for some loan servicing duties. This position is expected to possess a higher knowledge of lending related laws, regulations and legal documentation. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word are a must.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Respond to e-mail and phone calls from branch originators with regard to the processing of approved credit applications
Review loan approval terms to ensure loan is processed per underwriting approval guidelines; provide a high level of quality control and adherence to regulatory, lending procedures and Loan Policy Requirements
Maintain production of multiple loan pipeline flow for optimum loan production
Obtain and review applicable loan documents prior to generating closing documents
Responsible for setting up collateral files and tracking required documents
Ensure credit bureau alerts are resolved and properly documented
Actively participate as a team player with all other business lines
Complete ongoing training courses to ensure up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations
Understand and recognize the different phases of the loan application process (inquiry, regulation B application, and TRID application).
Understand the general credit and underwriting approval guidelines in order to advise the loan originator of products available to applicant(s) based upon initial application information.
Understand bank adverse action procedures and prepare denial, withdrawn, and approved not accepted packages for compliance review within required regulatory timeframes.
Prepare necessary loan documents using LaserPro, ordering from attorneys and/or PPDocs.
Maintain and complete necessary checklists, worksheets, and timelines accurately and timely for proper file documentation.
Order and review flood determinations. If applicable, provide appropriate notices and obtain flood insurance.
Assist with loan closings, when necessary.
Fund and upload new loans onto the bank’s core platform.
Accurately scan/image loan documents within 10 business days of closing.
Understand how to deliver documents through an e-Sign compliant delivery method such as DocuSign or other third party provider the bank uses.
Prepare loan modifications, as necessary.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of consumer, commercial, and real estate loan documentation
Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and Bank lending policies and procedures
Proficient in the use of PC software including Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational skills and effective time management
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
Detail oriented
Ability to multitask
Strong analytical skills
Ability to assume additional tasks and responsibility as assigned by management

Desired Skills:

Minimum of 2 years working experience as a loan processor
Experience loan processing in Consumer, Commercial and Commercial Real Estate
Experience working with Laserpro
Experience working with FISERV Navigator & Director

Education/Certifications:

High School Diploma
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
