The Better Bagel is looking for a dependable, experienced Line Cook to join our growing team. We're a busy, locally owned breakfast and lunch spot known for quality food, exceptional service, and a team that works together to get the job done.

If you enjoy working in a high-energy environment, take pride in consistency, and can handle a busy breakfast and lunch rush, we'd love to meet you.

Responsibilities

Prepare breakfast and lunch menu items according to recipes and quality standards
Work grill, egg station, fryer, and sandwich line
Follow established recipes and portion controls
Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and kitchen organization
Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with health department standards
Work efficiently with team members during peak business hours
Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant
Breakfast cooking experience strongly preferred
Ability to accurately follow recipes and preparation procedures
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Current Food Manager's Certificate (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred; must be willing to obtain certification if not currently certified
Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Requisitos

Mínimo 2 años de experiencia como cocinero de línea en un restaurante de alto volumen.
Experiencia en preparación de desayunos altamente preferida.
Capacidad para seguir recetas y procedimientos de preparación con precisión.
Conocimiento sólido de seguridad alimentaria y prácticas de saneamiento.
Certificación vigente de Gerente de Alimentos (ServSafe o equivalente) preferida; debe estar dispuesto(a) a obtenerla si actualmente no la posee.
Capacidad para realizar múltiples tareas y mantener la calma bajo presión.
Transporte confiable y excelente historial de asistencia.
Actitud positiva y fuerte ética de trabajo.
Capacidad para permanecer de pie durante períodos prolongados y levantar hasta 50 libras.
