Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef/Prep to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail. Your expertise in food handling, knife skills, and food safety will ensure that every plate meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talent in a dynamic environment while contributing to memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Prepare fresh sushi and sashimi according to established recipes and presentation standards
Assist with menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi options and seasonal specials
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and assembling ingredients efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to strict food safety protocols
Support kitchen staff during busy service hours by ensuring timely meal preparation and plating
Manage food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
Contribute to catering events by preparing sushi platters and assisting with special requests

Qualifications

Proven experience in a culinary setting, preferably with a focus on sushi or Japanese cuisine
Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to sushi-making
Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide practices is a plus
Experience with menu planning, food service, and food industry operations
Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating teamwork and adaptability

Pay: $700.00 - $1,300.00 per week
