What You Will Do to Change Lives
The Peer Recovery Coach II engages, inspires and facilitates meaningful conversations with members which assist the members to explore, create and meet their own recovery goals. The PRC II serves to coach and guide other Peer Support professionals in the delivery of peer support services. PRC II provide peer services supervision in collaboration with the clinical supervisor and act as the peer services consultant to program leadership and other staff. The Peer Recovery Coach II may deliver educational supervision groups on the unique discipline of peer support services and the roles of peer support professionals.
Peer Recovery Coaches II provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Schedule: Full-Time | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Monday - Friday
Compensation: Expected starting wage range is $21.49 - $26.25.
Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
- California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment. Failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation with the company
- Two (2) years or part-time equivalent of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges;
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- Must be CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified (hands-on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care and maintain current certification throughout employment
- All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

CARE Court Outreach is part of California’s Community, Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Act, a new approach to help unhoused individuals with severe mental illness engage with and access the support they deserve.
CARE Court Outreach is a person and client-centered, mission-driven program that reaches out to folks who might otherwise be unserved. Our goal is to help support people and fill the gap in our healthcare systems to create a meaningful entry into care. A referral to CARE Court can be initiated by family members, behavioral health providers, first responders, or other approved petitioners, by filing a petition with the Superior Court. Referrals to Telecare CARE Outreach are made by the County of San Diego.
