Job Overview-Operations Manager Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting daily sales and distribution operations, coordinating with territory managers and route sales representatives, and helping ensure customer needs are met across assigned accounts. This role requires strong planning, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to forecast route coverage and inventory needs to support efficient service and continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

· Work closely with territory managers and route sales representatives to support daily operations, customer service, sales execution, and route efficiency.

· Forecast route needs, inventory requirements, and product availability to help maintain consistent service levels and reduce out-of-stock or overstock situations.

· Coordinate with grocery chains, retail partners, and buyers regarding new item opportunities, discontinued items, special requests, and account-specific needs.

· Assist in planning and executing product launches, resets, promotions, seasonal programs, and customer-specific initiatives.

· Monitor account activity, inventory movement, sales trends, and route performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Communicate regularly with internal teams to ensure accurate information flow regarding customer needs, product changes, delivery schedules, and operational priorities.

· Support problem resolution related to inventory, deliveries, discontinued products, customer concerns, and special order requests.

· Maintain organized records, reports, spreadsheets, and communications related to sales operations, inventory planning, and customer account activity.

Qualifications and Skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and related reporting or spreadsheet tools.

· Strong ability to forecast route requirements, inventory needs, product demand, and service priorities.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams, grocery chains, retail buyers, and route personnel.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and customer requests.

· Ability to analyze sales, inventory, and route information to make practical operational recommendations.

· Problem-solving mindset with the ability to respond quickly to changing customer, inventory, and route needs.

· Professional, dependable, and able to work independently while supporting a team-oriented sales environment.

Travel and Work Expectations

This position requires a willingness to travel as needed to support territory managers, route sales representatives, grocery chain accounts, buyer meetings, store visits, route reviews, and operational needs. The Operations Manager should be comfortable working in both office and field environments and should be able to adapt to changing schedules, customer requests, and business priorities.

Preferred Experience

· Experience in grocery, retail, route sales, distribution, food products, or consumer packaged goods is preferred.

· Experience working with retail buyers, grocery chain representatives, territory managers, or route sales teams is a plus.

· Experience with inventory planning, route forecasting, sales reporting, or account support is beneficial.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
