Job Description:
TRB is in search of a reliable Field Safety Supervisor to help support our growing oil and gas operations in California. This is mainly a field-based position that requires local travel throughout Kern County, travel to projects in and around the LA Basin, and travel to our California offshore operations off the coast of Santa Barbara and surrounding areas. Office support for this position would include aiding in the onboarding process for all new employees, training development, data input, internal and customer meetings, company safety meetings, and other support efforts that may be needed.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Reinforce TRB’s Safety Leadership expectations and promote positive safe behaviors.
Provide field safety support for the company’s ongoing oil and gas projects.
Promote and reinforce a proactive, high-performance safety culture through coaching, mentoring, field engagement, and leadership presence.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, industry standards, Company policies, and customer requirements.
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, compliance initiatives, and educational resources to support workforce development.
Conduct safety inspections, audits, jobsite evaluations, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.
Lead and/or assist in investigations involving accidents, incidents, injuries, and near-misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or imminent hazards threaten employees, the public, equipment, or property.
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, metrics, and documentation to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in special projects, program development initiatives, and process improvement activities related to workplace safety.
Review safety plans, JSAs, and field documentation to support safe project execution.
Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and support compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Lead or support safety meetings and safety training.
Lead and/or assist with new employee onboarding
Attend all scheduled customer safety meetings, training classes, and pre-job meetings as needed.
Track HSE performance, manage reporting, and support injury case management as needed.
Perform site safety reviews including, but not limited to, company equipment, personnel, and work procedures.
Assist in maintaining compliance of the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Identify safety trends, recurring hazards, and systemic risks, and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with Operational Teams to promote proactive safety leadership in the field.
Reinforce safe work practices and escalate unsafe conditions or behaviors to Safety Management.
Serve as a subject matter expert on safety-related matters, providing technical guidance and support to supervisors, employees, and project teams.
May be required to work beyond scheduled work shifts as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience as a Safety Leader.
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all organizational levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS database systems.
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies and/or procedures.
Ability to create and conduct training effectively.
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong problem-solving and incident investigative skills.
Experience in the oil and gas industry to include sub-surface, offshore, completion, and workover operations.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining focus.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support field operations at varying sites.
Education/Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years of occupational health and safety experience in the oil and gas industry, petroleum refining industry, or within the oil and gas construction industry.
Minimum of two (2) years of occupational health and safety experience in the rig and/or workover fields specific to oil and gas required.
High school diploma or equivalent required
College coursework or specialized training in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of DOT FMCSA and DOT PHMSA regulations, Cal/OSHA policy and procedures, and California Code of Regulations Title 8 safety requirements.
Must possess, or be willing and able to obtain, within one (1) year of hire, one or more of the following professional safety certifications:
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST - BCSP)
Petroleum Safety Specialist (PSS) – Drilling and Servicing (NASP)
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid California Class C Drivers License with the ability to maintain insurability under TRB’s insurance carrier requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of driving, sitting, standing, walking, and working in outdoor environments.
Ability to frequently traverse active job sites in varying environmental conditions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in varying weather and site conditions.
Work Environment:
Work will be performed in both field and office environments, including active well sites.
Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts, uneven terrain, varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and other typical oil and gas site conditions.
Position may require extended hours, weekend work, and travel based on operational needs.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
