Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Ocean and Air Import Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end import process for ocean and air freight shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between carriers, customs authorities, and clients. Your expertise in supply chain management, transportation logistics, and trade compliance will drive efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, leveraging your skills in freight forwarding logistics, client relationship management, and transportation planning to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee ocean and air import shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with international trade regulations.
Manage communication with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and clients to facilitate smooth transportation processes.
Prepare and review shipping documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs declarations, and trade compliance paperwork.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software to track shipments, update clients, and maintain accurate data entry records.
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and freight providers to optimize costs while maintaining service quality.
Monitor shipment progress, troubleshoot delays or issues, and implement solutions proactively to minimize disruptions.
Develop strong client relationships through effective communication, account management, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

Experience in logistics company operations focusing on ocean and air freight import processes.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles, transportation management systems (TMS), and shipping logistics.
Familiarity with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations, freight brokerage, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), and freight forwarding logistics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for client relationship management and inside sales activities related to transportation sales and carrier negotiations.
