Full Job Description

Location: Seattle and Bellevue
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time
Schedule: M-F with Minimal Call

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our surgical team. This position is dedicated to intraoperative first assist in orthopedic procedures. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as first assist in orthopedic surgeries (e.g., joint replacement, sports medicine, trauma, spine as applicable)
Provide intraoperative support, including:
Surgical exposure and retraction
Hemostasis assistance
Suturing and wound closure
Instrument handling and sterile field maintenance
Anticipate surgeon needs to ensure efficient and safe procedural flow
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and OR protocols
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to optimize surgical outcomes
Assist with operating room preparation and turnover as needed
Document intraoperative details accurately in the EMR

Qualifications

Current Physician Assistant certification (PA-C)
Active and unrestricted state PA license (or eligibility)
BLS and ACLS certification required
Minimum [1–2+] years of orthopedic and/or surgical experience preferred
Experience as an OR first assist strongly preferred
Excellent technical, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume OR setting
Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and techniques
