Full Job Description

Sayles & Evans has created a strong presence as a reputable law firm within the Southern Tier. We are looking for a business manager to become part of this growing firm and improve further the reputation it has established. For those wishing to take on this opportunity and meet the challenge of today’s competitive business realm, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities include developing business plans and budgets, determining potential cost saving opportunities, and monitoring daily office procedures.

- General accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation of bank accounts, etc.

- Monitor employee scheduling and process payroll

- Act as mediator for staff matters

- Act as liaison between vendors (IT vendor, printers, insurance companies, website maintenance, etc.) and clients

- Provide a professional yet functional and pleasant atmosphere for the firm

- Retirement plan administration

- Complete month end and financial reports

- Manage employee hiring/retention matters

- Maintain and manage file system: create and destroy files in the office & put files away when necessary

- Assist the office in other departments as needed

Required work experience: at least 5 years of office management with a strong background in organization and accounting.

Must be organized, detail oriented, personable, and driven to improve the overall well-being of Sayles & Evans.

Background in tax preparation a plus.
