Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled VTL CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CNC programming and machining, with a focus on Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs). This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to produce complex, high-quality components according to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) and other CNC equipment to machine large, complex parts
Perform CNC and CAM programming to support efficient and accurate production runs
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles in all machining processes
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify part accuracy
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes using lean manufacturing methods
Safely use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment (including forklifts when required)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
This is a SWING SHIFT position and offer a shift differential of $4.00/hr

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with VTL experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in CNC programming and familiarity with CAM software
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with precision measurement and inspection tools
Basic math skills for measurements, offsets, and adjustments
Experience with plastics injection molding or EDM is a plus
Knowledge of welding and assembly processes is beneficial
Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
