Full Job Description

Controller
Location: Scarborough, ME (Hybrid - up to 1 day/week remote)
Compensation: Up to $160K base salary + bonus potential + RSUs, plus standard benefits

Overview

Our client, a premier organization with operations in Scarborough, ME, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. This is a high-impact role responsible for the financial performance and reporting across multiple sites, with close partnership alongside operational leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. This is a hybrid opportunity offering up to one day per week remote, along with a strong total compensation package including base salary, bonus potential, and RSUs.

Responsibilities

Own the financial performance and reporting for multiple sites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
Partner closely with operational leaders to drive budgeting, forecasting, and cost management initiatives
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Analyze site-level financial performance and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to track site performance against targets
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements across sites
Ensure strong internal controls are in place and maintained across all locations
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and corporate finance teams
Support annual budgeting and long-range planning processes
Manage and mentor accounting staff supporting site-level operations
Assist with audit preparation and support external auditor requests as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including multi-site or plant controllership experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proven experience partnering with operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities across sites in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
