Full Job Description

Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery is a thriving certified gluten-free bakery. Located in charming Hinsdale, Sweet Ali’s has been a destination bakery in Chicagoland and beyond for 16 years. With a dynamic and diverse team of talented employees, Sweet Ali’s encourages life balance, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for individual and team growth within an easy-going environment. Our open baker position offers PTO, a matching IRA and a store discount. Recent graduates and bakers who are early in their career are encouraged to apply!

Baker Responsibilities:

Prepping, mixing, scooping, finishing and baking Sweet Ali’s recipes according to company guidelines
Handling perishable foods; must know how to safely store and prep ingredients
Ensuring that products are baked at proper temperatures; observing products while they bake and adjusting temperatures accordingly
Making certain that kitchen and baking equipment adhere to sanitation regulations

Baker Requirements:

Experience or training through on-the-job training in a bakery, restaurant or from a culinary school
Familiarity with the use of commercial mixers, ovens, and other large-scale baking equipment
Ability to follow a production schedule and prioritize tasks
Ability to scale ingredients, following a recipe
Organizational skills and a good deal of energy
Ability to work and communicate well with others as a part of a team
Flexibility with hours as bakery shifts vary; must have holiday week availability

Hours and Benefits:

We are looking for someone to bake 5 days a week (40 hours); we bake Monday – Saturday, 4 am – noon. Off days will be Sunday and a weekday.
Compensation based on experience and ability. We offer PTO (paid time off), a retirement plan (employer matched), store discount and flexible scheduling.
