GRANT WRITER (PART-TIME)

Boys & Girls of Transformation Mentoring Program, Inc.

ABOUT US:

Boys & Girls of Transformation Mentoring Program, Inc. is a Christian-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of youth ages 11–17 through mentorship, leadership development, academic enrichment, life skills training, and biblical principles.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Because we are a Christian nonprofit organization, we seek candidates whose personal Christian faith aligns with and supports our biblical mission and values. Boys & Girls of Transformation Mentoring Program, Inc. is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven Part-Time Grant Writer to join our team. This is a hybrid position that reports directly to the Executive Director. This role offers a flexible hybrid work environment, combining remote work with in-office collaboration.

The Grant Writer will lead the organization's grant development efforts by identifying funding opportunities, conducting prospect research, writing compelling grant proposals, preparing supporting documentation, developing grant budgets, and managing the grant submission process from start to finish.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing and research skills, outstanding organizational abilities, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working independently. Candidates who are passionate about serving youth in a Christian, faith-based nonprofit organization are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and identify federal, state, county, corporate, foundation, and private grant opportunities.
Write high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.
Coordinate the grant submission process and ensure all deadlines are met.
Prepare grant narratives, budgets, attachments, and supporting documentation.
Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and funding pipeline.
Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and award notifications.
Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities.
Collect program data, statistics, and outcomes for grant applications.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop funding strategies.
Prepare grant reports and required documentation for funders.
Maintain organized grant files and funding records.
Draft professional letters, donor correspondence, and organizational communications.

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience in grant proposal writing within nonprofit and faith-based organization settings.
Strong understanding of contract management principles and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with databases for tracking grants and donor information.
Excellent research skills to identify new funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
Technical writing experience with an emphasis on persuasive storytelling and content editing.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of nonprofit foundation processes, government grant procedures within public agencies.
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in budgeting, financial report writing, and document proofreading.
Experience developing grant cases that clearly articulate program needs, outcomes, and impact potential.
Strong written communication skills coupled with strategic planning capabilities to enhance fundraising success.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

Experience writing federal, state, county, corporate, and foundation grants
Nonprofit fundraising and development experience
Grant budgeting experience
Knowledge of youth development or mentoring programs
Experience working with a Christian or faith-based nonprofit organization
