Staff Accountant I – Multifamily Property Management.

Location: Montgomery, AL (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Hourly (Overtime Eligible)

About the Opportunity

Foshee Residential is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant I to join our accounting team in Montgomery, AL.

This position is responsible for supporting the financial operations of a portfolio of apartment communities by preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned communities
Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity

Budgeting & Analysis

Support annual budgeting and forecasting
Analyze budget variances and provide reporting to management
Help identify and resolve financial discrepancies

Accounting & Compliance

Assist with internal and external audits
Maintain accurate financial records
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Complete account reconciliations with minimal outstanding variances

Team Support

Communicate proactively with team members
Manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

2+ years of accounting experience
1+ year of multifamily or property management accounting experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience using accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Experience with OneSite, Yardi, or similar property management software
