Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Transportation Driver / Central Supply Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable transportation and efficient supply management. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community safety and operational excellence. You will be responsible for transporting passengers, managing supply deliveries, and maintaining compliance with transportation safety regulations. Your dedication will help create a positive experience for riders while supporting the smooth running of our transportation services.

Duties

Safely operate various types of vehicles including school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
Transport children, seniors, or individuals with special needs, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, alighting, and provide necessary wheelchair assistance to ensure accessibility for all riders.
Follow emergency response procedures during transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when needed.
Maintain accurate logs of trips, vehicle inspections, and supply deliveries; complete shift reports promptly.
Manage central supplies by coordinating inventory levels, distributing supplies efficiently, and ensuring timely replenishment.
Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with proactive communication and defensive driving techniques to ensure passenger safety.

Skills

Proven experience in bus driving, school bus operation, or commercial driving with a strong understanding of vehicle codes and transportation safety regulations.
Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency response procedures for transportation, and defensive driving techniques.
Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling supplies or assisting passengers with mobility challenges.
Familiarity with child care practices, student discipline policies, behavior management strategies, and teaching fundamentals is advantageous.
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues before they escalate.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle passenger concerns professionally and courteously.
Multilingual skills enhance your ability to serve diverse populations effectively.
