Job Title: Front Office Lead
Family Medicine & Urgent Care Clinic (Independent, Community-Based Practice)Location: Coastal Carolina Care Hampstead, NC

We are a locally owned, non-corporate family medicine and urgent care clinic serving our community with relationship-centered, high-quality care. Unlike large healthcare systems, we prioritize personalized service, teamwork, and a supportive work environment. Our small-clinic setting allows us to move quickly, innovate, and truly know our patients and staff.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Front Office Lead to oversee daily front desk operations in our busy family medicine and urgent care practice. This individual will serve as the primary point of coordination for front office staff while maintaining excellent patient service and operational efficiency. This person should have the ability to help wherever is needed among administrative staff.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support front desk staff (scheduling, check-in/check-out, phones, insurance verification, referrals)
Coordinate daily workflow for family medicine and walk-in urgent care patients
Ensure accurate patient registration, insurance processing, and copay collection
Manage front office scheduling templates and optimize patient flow
Train new front desk team members and provide ongoing coaching
Troubleshoot patient concerns professionally and efficiently
Collaborate closely with clinical staff and providers to maintain smooth operations
Monitor front office performance metrics and recommend workflow improvements
Maintain HIPAA compliance and high standards of professionalism

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years medical office experience (family medicine or urgent care preferred)
Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of insurance verification and medical scheduling
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
EHR experience required
