Job Title: Clinical Director

BALANCE eating disorder treatment center, a premium treatment center in Manhattan, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate Clinical Director to join our expanding team!

About Balance

Balance has a 12-year legacy of transforming lives by promoting health, healing, and hope to our clients and their families. We serve adolescents and adults by providing all levels of outpatient care. It is our mission to create a transformative therapeutic experience based on our nutritional philosophy of intuitive eating using the All Foods Fit Model. At BALANCE we employ a diversity of treatment modalities to help clients develop a neutral and peaceful relationship with food, body acceptance, and positive self-esteem.

The Position

This is a full-time position. The Clinical Director is a vital leadership role and is integral to the successful management of our programs. The Clinical Director provides direction and supervision to the entire clinical staff. The position is 50% managerial responsibilities and 50% clinical, which includes running multiple groups in PHP and IOP, as well as case management. The Clinical Director provides oversight of clinical documentation and Utilization Review matters. He/she ensures that best practices are followed, both for clinical treatments and program management, in accordance with company policies and NYS requirements. The Clinical Director consults with all departments on an as-needed basis to ensure the healthy functioning of the program and the clinical treatment of its clients. The Clinical Director needs to be a licensed clinician (PsyD, LMFT, LCSWL, LPC, etc.) in New York State.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Director's Role and Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Work

Run multiple groups in our Day Treatment Program (CBT, DBT, Process, Closure, Meals, etc.)
Case Manage clients in our Day Treatment Program (PHP)

Programming and Schedule

Oversee and plan all client care, including PHP and IOP schedules for groups, clients and clinical team.
Lead and work to constantly improve the programming integrity of PHP, IOP and all groups at BALANCE using client feedback, staff analysis, and evolving research on best practices.
Conduct, review, and troubleshoot clinical issues as they arise, including providing crisis interventions.
Coordinate and supervise clinical staff through creating and managing schedules, time off requests, sick coverage and conducting employee evaluations for entire clinical team.

· Be on-call several nights a week, on a rotating basis

Ensure that client records are up to date in both our electronic database and files.
Take responsibility for budgeting and resource planning while understanding the financial budget in decision making around coverage and team schedules.
Consult and collaborate with our Psychiatrist and clinical supervisor.
Monitor compliance and legal guidelines, while ensuring adherence to company quality standards of service and growth.
Ensure adherence to health code policies and licensing regulations. Provides oversight of any/all audits as necessary.
Identify, propose and implement process improvements as appropriate.

Intakes, Orientation, Retention Rates, Step Down

Support and collaborate with Admissions Team in securing new clients in our programs.
Serve as positive role model to clinical staff, employees, clients and guests by maintaining a positive, caring and professional attitude.
Run multi family group and interface with family members.
Work with team in case management to increase adherence to clinical recommendations and provide a favorable outcome for the client.
Have a working knowledge of step-down plans, step-down rates, discharge rates and work on improving them.

Meetings and Training Current Staff

Run weekly clinical rounds, team admin meeting and team supervision.
Identify and organize training opportunities for staff through upcoming conferences, staff requests, and client need assessments.

Internship Program

Organize and maintain an ongoing internship program at BALANCE.

Who You Are:

Experience in clinical program development and program management.
PsyD, PhD, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC license is required.
Good understanding of budget and resource planning, as well as evaluation procedures and methods.
In-depth knowledge of relevant mental health regulations.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Experience treating eating disorders as a primary diagnosis is strongly preferred.
A passion for working with clients with eating disorders
Passionate about eating disorders prevention and intervention
Able to supervise interns.
5+ Years leadership experience.
Dynamic, flexible, team player, takes initiative
Eager to grow with a quickly expanding company
