Culinary Operations Manager

Starting Salary

$55,000 annually

Successful completion of our 90-day onboarding program includes an immediate salary review, with the opportunity to increase to $65,000–$75,000 annually based on performance, leadership, KPI achievement, and team integration.

About the Opportunity

Village Catering is one of Northeast Ohio's premier catering companies and part of the growing Sayre Hospitality Group family of businesses.

Unlike traditional restaurant management positions, our culinary operation is primarily production-based. Execution occurs offsite by seasoned caterers. Most work is completed during daytime hours, allowing our leadership/culinary team to enjoy a healthier work-life balance while still leading a fast-paced, high-performing culinary operation.

We're looking for a hands-on operational leader—not simply a cook or chef.

The Culinary Operations Manager is responsible for leading our culinary department through organization, accountability, inventory management, scheduling, food production, team development, and operational excellence. This position exists to build systems, develop people, and create kitchens that consistently operate at a high level. This position is not designed for culinary innovation or recipe creation - but for execution.

Responsibilities:

Lead daily culinary operations.
Develop, coach, and support culinary team members.
Maintain exceptional standards for cleanliness and organization.
Oversee inventory management, food ordering, and product rotation.
Quantify food production based on guest counts and menus.
Prepare weekly culinary schedules.
Improve workflow, efficiency, and kitchen systems.
Communicate proactively with leadership and other departments.
Step into production when needed and lead by example.

Qualifications Required:

5+ years of commercial kitchen or hospitality leadership experience.
Experience supervising and developing employees.
Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and food production planning.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work alongside the team while providing operational leadership.
Valid driver's license. (Driving Records Will Be Reviewed)

Preferred

Catering or banquet experience.
Multi-unit kitchen leadership.
ServSafe Manager Certification.
