Full Job Description

Job Title: Prep Cook

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable, efficient, and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our team. This role is responsible for daily kitchen and barista preparation, batching syrups and cold foam, and baking fresh pastries. The Prep Cook will work independently during off-hours to prepare for busy shifts while maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen. The ideal candidate is proactive, consistent, and comfortable working independently. Hours are flexible as long as items are prepared for the next shift. Prep cooks may work anytime after 3pm in the evenings and anytime before 7am in the mornings.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Prep & Baking

Prepare all daily kitchen ingredients, including sauces, and mise en place
Prepare all daily coffee bar ingredients, including cold foam and housemade syrups
Bake fresh cookies and muffins each morning according to recipes and standards
Batch and portion cookie and muffin dough for freezing and future use
Monitor product quality, consistency, and freshness

Kitchen Organization & Sanitation

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients (FIFO)
Assist with dishwashing and closing tasks as needed

Requirements:

Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality and consistency
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures precisely
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Ability to bend, reach, and work safely around hot equipment

Salary: The hourly wage for line cooks will start at $18/hour.
