Full Job Description

SUMMARY:

Supervises the activities in the kitchen to provide the highest quality of service and product to residents in a cost-effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs and supervises all dietary functions and personnel.
Follows policies and procedures for the Nutritional Services Department.
Accountable for the proper storage of all food and supplies used by the Nutritional Services Department and minimizing loss.
Ensures that the kitchen staff follows the required food handling and preparation policies, procedures, and regulations.
Schedules work hours and assignments also reviews and checks staff work performance. Is responsible to see that each shift is properly staffed.
Is responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.
Evaluates and provides direction in food production, including standardizing recipes, portion control, problem-solving, and Quality Assessment and Assurance activities.
Duties are determined by the facility's needs and may include, but are not limited to the following:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) Certificate
Long-term Care or Healthcare experience is a plus!
