Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spanish Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication across diverse settings, including healthcare, social services, and legal environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual abilities, excellent interpretation skills, and a thorough understanding of medical and social work terminology. This role is essential in ensuring that non-English speaking clients receive equitable access to services while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by bridging language barriers and supporting vulnerable populations.

Duties

Provide real-time interpretation between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking professionals in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, child protective services, and social work agencies.
Accurately translate medical records, documentation, and reports while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Assist with interpretation for medical procedures, consultations, and social service meetings, ensuring clarity and cultural sensitivity.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting effective communication among healthcare providers and social workers.
Support hospital staff by interpreting during patient assessments, discharge planning, and family conferences.
Facilitate communication during legal or child protective services interviews while maintaining confidentiality standards.
Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions in accordance with organizational policies.
Stay updated on medical terminology, interpretation best practices, and relevant legal or social service protocols to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Skills

Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages such as American Sign Language are a plus.
Strong interpretation skills with the ability to convey messages accurately and culturally appropriately.
Experience with medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare documentation review.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively and articulate complex information clearly.
Knowledge of child protective services procedures, hospital operations, social work practices, and medical records management.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
Bilingual capability is essential; prior experience in medical or hospital settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with interpretation for social work cases or legal proceedings is advantageous. This role is vital in supporting effective communication within diverse communities while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

Pay: $500.00 - $900.00 per month
