Job Description

Title: 3rd Shift Supervisor

Department: Production Reports To: Production Manager

Location: New Eagle, PA Rate: $21/hr Based on Experience

Shift Diff $2 (3rd)

Summary

The 3rd Shift Supervisor is responsible for maximizing production and labor efficiency while ensuring direct reports follow company policies. This position may open/close facility, will be cross-trained on multiple production lines, material handling equipment, and will work near rotating equipment, mechanical conveyors, screens, mixers and power transmission equipment. Manage a shift of approximately 12 full time and contract employees.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Monthly Safety training, share safety aspects & policies as part of job assignments
Drive housekeeping improvement setting daily goals
Support loading or off-loading incoming raw or outgoing finished goods
Daily auditing of production rates, product quality, and safety hazards
Training until compliance confirmed with policies and procedures
Correct deficiencies and poor practices. Eliminate waste in any process
Maintain discipline, know your direct reports strengths and set expectations for their growth and development
Conflict resolution; keep focus on process, find peaceful solutions
Hold yourself accountable first for failures that could have been prevented
Must communicate adjustments with production manager and scheduler

Position Demands

Knowledge: High school diploma. Mechanical aptitude. Read a tape measure. Previous manufacturing, contracting, forklift, Bobcat, or other related experience required.

Skills & Abilities: Attention to details, Excellent communication, ability to learn quickly, personal initiative, integrity, customer and quality focus, problem-solving proficiency, safety awareness and auditing excellence – Driven housekeeping mindset.

Physical & Mental: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in an industrial environment.

General: Will work overtime as needed. Shift start/end times may vary with seasonal industry demand. Benefits include vacation, personal days, holidays, and 401K with 20% company match.
