Lead Financial Strategy for a Mission-Driven Healthcare Organization
Horizon Health Care is seeking a strategic, collaborative CFO to join our executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in advancing access to high-quality, affordable healthcare across rural communities.

Role Overview:
The CFO provides overall financial leadership for the organization and serves as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team. This role drives financial strategy, ensures compliance, and supports operational excellence across a growing network of community health centers.
Work Location and Travel: Open to in-person, hybrid, or remote; travel to clinic locations, continuing education workshops and other meetings as needed.
Salary Range: $150,000 – 170,000
What You’ll Do
Lead Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and manage the annual budget, providing ongoing analysis of revenue and expenditures to support informed decision-making.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to identify opportunities for growth, sustainability, and new revenue streams.
Drive Organizational Financial Performance
- Provide strategic financial guidance to department and clinic leaders to strengthen budget management and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and key trends to ensure accurate reporting and actionable insights.
Strengthen Financial Infrastructure & Controls
- Design and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, payroll, billing, and collections.
Optimize Revenue Cycle Operations
- Lead the development and implementation of billing, coding, and collections processes to improve cash flow and revenue integrity.
Ensure Regulatory & Grant Compliance
- Prepare and submit required federal and state financial reports and surveys.
- Lead financial components of grant applications and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (including HRSA and federal grant requirements).
- Prepare for and support successful completion of financial components of site reviews and audits.
Support Governance & Executive Decision-Making
- Prepare and present financial statements, key performance metrics, and analysis to the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, translating financial data into strategic insights.
Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams
- Provide oversight, direction, and development for accounting, payroll, and billing and collections staff.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
Maintain Compliance & Operational Standards
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and organizational safety standards.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives and organizational readiness.
Engage as an Executive Leader
- Actively contribute to Executive and Leadership Team discussions and organizational initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on healthcare financial practices.
- Present and translate complex financial information to multiple levels of the organization, including executive leadership, boards, managers, and frontline staff, in a clear and actionable manner.

What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience (healthcare preferred)
