Telehealth Therapist — NJ LAC or PA LAPC
Path 2 Purpose
Remote | 1099 Independent Contractor | Day and Evening Hours

The Opportunity

Path 2 Purpose is seeking compassionate and dependable associate-level therapists licensed as either:

Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in New Jersey; or
Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in Pennsylvania.

Clinicians will provide secure telehealth services to clients physically located in the state where the clinician is licensed and authorized to practice.

This is a flexible 1099 independent-contractor opportunity. Both daytime and evening availability may be needed as P2P’s telehealth programs grow. Contractors may provide individual therapy, assessments, clinical check-ins, group therapy and other clinically appropriate services based on program needs, client census and the clinician’s availability.

Responsibilities

Provide individual counseling through a secure telehealth platform.
Facilitate structured therapy and psychoeducational groups.
Complete clinical assessments and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
Apply evidence-based and evidence-informed approaches, including CBT, DBT-informed skills, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and solution-focused interventions.
Address anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions and related behavioral-health concerns.
Support clients experiencing co-occurring mental-health and substance-use challenges within the clinician’s training and scope of practice.
Monitor client symptoms, participation, progress and treatment-plan goals.
Complete timely, accurate and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record.
Participate in required clinical supervision, case consultation and treatment-team meetings.
Identify safety concerns and follow established crisis-assessment and escalation procedures.
Coordinate with families, outpatient providers, schools and other supports when clinically appropriate and properly authorized.
Maintain professional, ethical and HIPAA-compliant telehealth practices.

Scheduling and Availability

P2P anticipates needing clinicians during both daytime and evening hours.

Possible scheduling opportunities include:

Weekday individual therapy and clinical-assessment appointments.
Daytime therapy and psychoeducational groups.
Evening individual therapy appointments.
Evening mental-health programming, potentially between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
Clinical documentation, treatment planning, case consultation and care coordination.

Contractors will submit their availability and accept assignments based on mutual agreement, client needs and program census. A specific number of hours is not guaranteed.

We are especially interested in candidates who can offer a consistent weekly schedule that includes some combination of daytime and evening availability.

Required Qualifications

Active New Jersey LAC license or active Pennsylvania LAPC license in good standing.
Master’s degree in counseling, clinical mental-health counseling, psychology or another qualifying behavioral-health discipline.
Legally authorized to provide professional counseling services to clients located in the applicable state.
Willingness and ability to practice under qualified clinical supervision and comply with all applicable supervision-plan requirements.
Understanding of clinical documentation, treatment planning, professional ethics and client confidentiality.
Ability to provide engaging and clinically purposeful telehealth services.
Reliable computer, private professional workspace and dependable high-speed internet connection.
Ability to respond appropriately to safety concerns and behavioral-health crises.
Professional liability insurance or willingness to obtain coverage before beginning services.
Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing individual therapy through telehealth.
Experience facilitating mental-health IOP, PHP or structured outpatient groups.
Experience working with adolescents, adults or young adults.
Training or experience in CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care or motivational interviewing.
Experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation and relationship difficulties.
Experience supporting clients with co-occurring mental-health and substance-use conditions.
Familiarity with electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
Interest in accumulating supervised clinical experience toward independent LPC licensure.
Interest in helping develop group curricula and strengthen a growing clinical program.

Independent-Contractor Relationship

This position is structured as a 1099 independent-contractor engagement. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance and other obligations associated with independent-contractor status.

Available assignments and clinical hours will depend on client census, program needs, payer requirements, clinician credentials and mutually agreed-upon availability. This posting does not guarantee a minimum number of referrals, clients or weekly hours.

Licensure and Supervision

Clinicians may only provide services to clients physically located in states where the clinician holds the required active license or other lawful authorization to practice.

Pennsylvania LAPC candidates must be willing to include Path 2 Purpose, their clinical duties and the applicable work arrangements in any supervision plan or board submission required for their practice and accumulation of supervised experience.

New Jersey LAC candidates must practice under supervision that satisfies the requirements of the New Jersey Professional Counselor Examiners Committee.

All supervision and clinical-service arrangements are subject to applicable state laws, licensing-board requirements, payer rules and P2P policies.
