Lead AI Platform Engineer

Lead AI Platform Engineer

Location: Remote
Salary: $175,000 to $200,000 base + bonus

Requirements

7+ years of backend or full stack software engineering experience
2+ years building production LLM-powered applications
Strong AWS experience (Bedrock preferred)
TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python
Experience with agent frameworks or protocols (MCP, A2A, etc.)

About the Role

We're hiring the first dedicated owner of our internal AI platform. Our AI assistant, built on the Vercel AI SDK and AWS Bedrock, is moving into production, while our external MCP-based agent platform is already live with early partner adoption.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll own the architecture, write production code, define the technical roadmap, and partner closely with executive leadership to shape the company's AI strategy. You'll also build the shared AI infrastructure that future automation initiatives are built upon.

What You'll Work On

Own and scale the company's internal AI platform, expanding LLM capabilities, agent workflows, and enterprise integrations.
Evolve the external MCP platform powering AI-native customer workflows.
Design and build shared AI infrastructure, including model routing, evaluation, guardrails, observability, secrets management, and cost controls.
Lead adoption of AWS Bedrock and AgentCore while evaluating new AWS AI capabilities.
Drive architectural decisions across integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and Snowflake.
Mentor engineers within the AI & Automation team while remaining highly hands-on.

What We're Looking For

7+ years building production backend or full stack software.
2+ years building production LLM or agent-based systems that real users depend on.
Deep AWS experience, with Bedrock strongly preferred.
Strong TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python development experience.
Experience with agent frameworks or protocols such as MCP, A2A, or similar technologies.
Strong API design and distributed systems experience.
Experience building platforms that other engineers build upon.
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable technical solutions.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

Experience in AdTech, programmatic advertising, OOH, or DOOH.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Power Platform.
Experience with Snowflake, Sigma, or modern analytics platforms.
Open source contributions to MCP, agent frameworks, or related AI ecosystems.
